OUR MISSION STATEMENT: WE MAKE JUDAISM COME ALIVE

Our mission is to connect our youth through our Big Brother and Big Sister Mentoring Program, providing an opportunity to learn Hebrew on a one on one basis with a committed high school student who is trained and observed weekly.

Our Big Brothers and Big Sisters will inspire your children and instill in
them a positive sense of Judaism. The sharing of knowledge, activities,
celebrations and Shabbatons will remain with your children through their
lives. At the same time, your children will experience the history, traditions, rituals and religion of our people taught through our young and exciting
staff.

Our mission is to Educate our children on the meaning and purpose of Jewish life. To provide a unique academic and religious education through a hands-on experiential program that engages your children and enriches their Jewish identity.

Our mission is to prepare our children for their Bar and Bat mitzvah and life as a member of the Jewish people. In doing so, we instill within each child a Jewish identity, and commitment to lifelong learning.

Our mission is to embrace the entire family, welcoming them at our many inclusive family
programs, centered around the holidays, life-cycles and Jewish values
which help build lasting Jewish memories.

About Our Program:

The JEO is a once a week Hebrew school where children learn about their rich heritage, bond with other Jewish children, and learn to read and speak Hebrew. The JEO also prepares the children for their Bar and Bat Mitzvah through classes which are directed at that goal. The JEO meets for two hours each week and no synagogue membership is required to attend.

Sunday morning classes are divided into three 40-minute sessions, which are divided into Bible, Holidays and Hebrew Reading.

One on on learning

In our Big brother big sister program, each child is assigned a big brother or big sister who learns hebrew reading with them one-on-one. This program takes place every sunday morning during the 40 minute time slot set aside for hebrew reading. This ensures that your child is able to learn as much as Êhe or she can, at his or her own pace while also building relationships with a teen mentor. There is an additionally one on one hebrew learning program on Thursday nights.. This program allows the children to enjoy themselves through playing games, while reinforcing what they are learning on Sunday mornings.

Activities

We have two Shabbatons during the year where the kids spend the entire Shabbat with their Big Brothers and Big Sisters learning about the sanctity of the day through games songs and skits and end with Havdallah, a ceremony which marks the end of Shabbat, as well as dancing and singing. We also have monthly Shabbat programs for the entire family.
